We are a family run Horse and Carriage service based in Gretna Green, covering South Scotland and North England. We have over 28 years experience and have seen modern fashions come and go. We feel nothing beats the tradition of  2 stunning horse's dressed with white plumes pulling a traditional carriage to a wedding.

Gretna Green is Scotlands World famous venue for runaways and lovers alike. Tradition has it that runnaway couples have been eloping across the border at high speed in the finest horse drawn carriage to get Wed for centuries. - We at Tartan Carriages believe in keeping that dream alive.

* Welfare - Our horses are able to cope with greater distances and terrain than the smaller Cobs used locally - Welfare is our priority.

* Training - Our horses are continually trained to the highest standards and are the most family friendly around. We strive to set high standards of safety and welfare. 

* Equipment - Our horses have all everything they need to ensure they are comfortable and safe, they have fitted fleece rugs if it's cold and waterproof rugs for thoes rainy days.

* Friendly & Safe - We are proud that our horses are safe and do not spook, panic or jump around when at functions, Galas or Weddings. Giving you peace of mind and stunning Photos, they adore getting their photo taken showing off when they can.

* Personal touch - 
Feathers - Our feathers are stunning and with many colours to choose from we know you will enjoy that personal touch. Champagne/ soft drinks available, doves can be arranged to order.

Heated Carriage - Our Carriages are heated for you in the winter, it's good to take the chill off your journey.

Champagne - We can offer you a Champagne service or Bucks Fizz/ soft drinks if you prefer.

* Choice - We are proud to be the only carriage company to offer a choice of carriages. The Classic Victoria, the Glass Landau and the Waggonnette. All are stunning and available.

* Sure footed - Every Winter Tartan Carriages horses wear special eight studded shoes, allowing us to work normally in the snow or frost. Safety is paramount.

* Children - We are the only Gretna Green Carriage Company to have a Carriage with doors, we understand the pressure with small Children & infants. As parents ourselves we fully understand that your children's safety comes first.
